A little about me…

My background

My undergraduate degrees are in Mathematics (Fort Valley State University) and Mechanical Engineering (UNLV). I also have an MBA from Indiana University with a minor focus in Entrepreneurship. My professional experience began in the automotive industry at Ford Motor Company where I started in sheet metal body design and ultimately achieved my Six Sigma Black Belt certification. I later moved to financial services at Bank of America where I put my Six Sigma experience to further use improving the customer experience. The skills I developed and nurtured in these roles (statistical data analysis, process improvement, process development, and project management) are skills my clients benefit from today. Communication, strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, and a commitment to client satisfaction are driving forces in my business.

Why I do what I do

One of my first bookkeeping clients was a life coach who needed 12 months of bank statements reconciled to get ready for tax season. I took the tasks off her plate and made her business life easier.

Later, a new client, well-versed in using QuickBooks Online (QBO) for his real estate advisory and construction management business, hired me to manage his accounts receivables. Our partnership evolved into him viewing me as a valued team member as well as his QBO solutions expert.

Another client hired me to perform a massive clean-up of her QBO file for the previous two years in order to complete unfiled taxes. After the cleanup, she added me to her team to manage bookkeeping, payroll and other customized services for her construction management and sustainability consulting business.

Experiences like these drive me to do more for clients who want to put more time into building their dreams. These clients also drive me to strengthen my expertise for them and new business owners I will cross paths with in the future.

What keeps me grounded

My husband and children are everything to me. Flexibility in my career is a must for me to be available for my family. They’ve taught me that pivoting is a must to get stuff done and to maintain balance. They’ve also been instrumental in helping me learn that rest, relaxation and self care are not just necessary but required! My go-to activities are travel, yoga/meditation, walking and sewing up fashionable garments for my wardrobe (and my kids’).
